Parris has a selfish agenda, which results in being evil. Parris lies so that he looks good and tries to down play how bad it was. ... Parris says “. ... ” (Miller 97). Earlier Parris says “. ... Parris lies because later on he realizes how serious the whole situation got and how it might mess up his name because of his family’s actions in it. Parris waits to tell that Abby is gone and stole his money so that she could make a clean get away and hopefully be out of his life. ... Parris finally says “. ... Parris waited to tell so that Abby may get away and not get caught. Parris also did not tell because it is so suspicious and they might try to catch Abby. Parris also really wants Abby out of his life because of all the trouble she is and has caused done.
