Exploring the Viability of the Reorganisation of the Minor Maintenance Operation in A Passenger Airline Carrier. ... This study attempts to determine the feasibility of the reorganisation of the maintenance workers and operations with regard to manpower and shift patters within a passenger airline carrier. The dramatic growth in the airline industry has placed a renewed exigency on identifying ways to develop work cultures and arrange shift patterns to promote safety for employees and passengers and greater efficiency for the business. The effective organisation of any aircraft maintenance operation has direct consequence on many aspects of the parent company’s business. Safety, productivity, profits; cost, quality and reputation, all can be both favourably or adversely affected by the levels of attention allocated to the promotion of a “safety culture” and the distribution of all resources, especially manpower during the maintenance process.
