NEW TESTAMENT TEACHING ON SPEAKING IN TONGUES
Is speaking in tongues still a valid for today? I would say that speaking in tongues is still valid for today if only it is used by the guidelines given in 1 Corinthians 12:8-12. However I would add that speaking in tongues is not essential for ones salvation. 1 Corinthians 12:8-12 lists speaking in tongues as one of the spiritual gifts, however Paul, also points out that the Spirit gives to each just as he wills. He goes on to say that not all have the gift of speaking in tongues (v 30).
