In this short critical appreciation of Pirates of the Caribbean I aim to illustrate the successes, and minor downfalls with the new blockbuster. Pirates of the Caribbean is a classic example of the film industry today. A fusion of genres, it provides swashbuckling entertainment for the whole family, combining action, special effects and, of course, romance.
