Slavery Intro
From the early days of colonization, farmers and slave owners objected to the education of slaves, and an attempt to expose them to Christian teachings was extremely opposed by plantation owners. All religious groups in America in one way or another supported slavery. The development of organized church and education within the enslaved peoples led towards the abolishment of slavery and the freedom of African Americans.
