Explain what Christians believe about the death of Jesus
Jesus said he had to suffer and die because he had been sent on a mission of self-sacrifice. ... This idea is made clear in Mark 10:41-45, Jesus says ‘For even the Son of Man did not come to be served; he came to serve and to give his life to redeem many people’ Jesus tells his disciples many times that he has to die. Perhaps because his disciples do not want Jesus’ fate to come true they had to struggle to come to terms with it and had to realise why he has to die.
