Voulteering with Girl Scouts
Community Volunteerism means a lot to me. I personally believe that community service provides unexpected rewards as there are motives. Getting involved in the community instead of considering volunteering as something you do for people is what I use to believe. However it is what the people do for me, I think of this as an exchange. I want to make a positive difference in people’s lives. I want to be able to build bridges and close the gap between the community and it’s shortcomings. I believe that community volunteerism is about having fun, doing something different, developing new skills that will carry over in life. Such as leadership, problem-solving, team working and communication skills. Also the ability to network. I hope to meet people with knowledge and experience from which I can benefit, and may even find a mentor or future employer after graduation.
