I am truly blessed. I don’t think I knew that until a rare opportunity to visit Hato Mayor del Rey came up. Hato Mayor del Rey is a town in the East side of Dominican Republic, an island located in the Caribbean. I arrived in a poor community with my husband to do missionary work. We arrived at this town by “accident”. ... I never imagined that I was going to become rich in this poor town. ...
During the days I was at Hato Mayor del Rey, I was asking myself the same question: how could these people live in such bad conditions? ... I then realized that I was truly blessed and that was the reason why I was at Hato Mayor del Rey. ... Soon enough I have realized that I was also poor because I have taken all the things that I have for granted. But while I was in Hato Mayor del Rey I became rich in this poor town because I found out the joy of giving!
