Review of Fabric True Playaz Night
Review of Fabric 30/11/2001 Lineup: Andy C, Mampi Swift DJ Hype Ital (Kool FM) DJ SS Brockie Pascal MCs : Alvin, Rage, Fats and GQ Before going I found out through the D+B Arena forum that Mampi Swift was unable to goto True Playaz, which, to be honest was quite a negative thing from my point of view. ... Unfortunately the promotor timed the DJs in quite a bad way which worsened the night from my point of view: 9-11 Ital (Kool FM) 11-12 Pascal 12-2 Hype 2-3 DJ SS 3-4 Brockie 4-5 Andy C I arrived at 11:30 so missed Ital who I was looking to see, then missed all of Pascals set (was saying hello to everyone I knew there) and missed a little bit of the start of Hypes set. ... The best times at True Playaz for me have been when Hype has been running tings for the last two hours, as he always tears it up. ... Normally Hype plays a set routine at True Playaz including his 3 deck megamix of Terrorist, Ready or Not, 6 million ways etc. I have been to every True Playaz this year and was kinda looking forward to it, but it never came. ... However his mixing was apparently abysmal on the Fabric sound system (which was turned up much louder than normal). ... A nice addition to the night was Brockie bringing MC DETT along with him.
