UNDERSTANDING Having a justice system in this nation is highly imperative and important. A justice system that allows for understanding of one’s circumstances is of even more importance. In Glaspell’s, “A Jury of Her Peers”, the author examines the theme of justice by her use of the title, the characters, and the plot. ... In a commentary by Karen Bernardo about the story, she says, “Glaspell’s point in “A Jury of Her Peers” is that women’s worth has been sociologically devalued because men are incapable of understanding the subtlety of women’s communication”. ... The two women in this story were, in a sense, the jury in this case. ... Wright out of sympathy and understanding of her situation. ...
