Do Not Legalize Marijuana
I do not want to see marijuana legalized for four reasons. For one, there are better medicines that can and do replace marijuana. Second, marijuana is a gateway for the use of harder and more dangerous drugs. ... Finally, there are too many hazards in using marijuana. One condition that marijuana is used for is called chemotherapy-induced nausea. Many people argue that the best treatment for this condition is marijuana, but it is not. ... Then there are the classes of drugs that have been made from marijuana that have also been shown to have some anti-nausea effects. ... Therefore, the excuse that marijuana is the best medication for chemotherapy-induced nausea or other illnesses is not valid. With better medications out there, there is no reason for marijuana to be legalized for medical use. My second reason for why marijuana should not be legalized is the fact that it leads to the use of harder and more dangerous drugs.
