The Ebola virus was found first in the Ebola River, in the Democratic republic of Congo. Ebola belongs to a group of diseases known as filoviridae. ... The fourth strain, Ebola/Reston, has been found not to be harmful to humans. Ebola/Zaire is the most deadly and harmful to humans.
The virus causes sever fever, with symptoms like headaches, weakness, muscle pains, followed by vomiting, abdominal pains, diarrhea, sore throat, bleeding of wounds, and at times, the destruction of internal tissues. ... The Ebola/Zaire strain of the virus has a 77% to 87% fatality rate.
