“Ok To Die, Not To Drink”
During these times of war and international turmoil, many young men and women are putting their lives in danger to protect the freedom of our beloved country. ... In a prime example of a double standard set by our government, it is illegal to drink alcohol before the age of 21. ... Sure, the higher-ranking people in the military are older, but the wars are not won and lost by commanders. ... This would be a person whose country gives them a license to kill, just not to drink. What makes an 18 year old able to have the responsibility to take a life, and not to have the responsibility to drink alcohol? ... Although many years have gone by since that time, there is still no concrete argument that can thoroughly state that an 18 year old is not responsible enough to drink. ... They allow an 18 year old to choose the elected officials in our government, but that very same government makes the choice of whether or not to drink for them. ... As of today, there are no cases of war or self sacrifice for the right to drink.
