New France and the Huron
The relationship between New France and the Huron confederacy began with the great need they had for each other. New france needed the Huron Confederacy to give them access to the fur trade. This meaning the Huron would only trade their furs with the french settlers, in exchange for this New France would ally with the Huron confederacy against the Iroquious confederacy, giving the Huron the much needed protection from the Iroquious attacks.
New France would soon bring in the Jesuits, a group of french priests, to try to convert the natives to christianity.
