Voting defines democracy, for it is the fundamental right of almost all American citizens over the age of eighteen. ... From being overwhelmed to apathetic, the reasons why Americans have a tendency to avoid voting ranges greatly, yet leads to one result; a country full of careless, skeptical, and dissatisfied people. Voting is a vital aspect to any Americans’ life. ... Despite the huge toll that voting has on the lives of Americans; the voting rate is relatively low due to a myriad of reasons. ... Many believe that being involved with volunteer work and their community makes a bigger difference in society, while some think that voting is too tedious of a task to deal with. Whatever the reasons, the lack of participation from the X-Y generation can and ought to be changed, for the effects of practicing voting are great.
