Appearances Can Be Misleading
Throughout life, there are inevitable obstacles that befall everyone. Some of these can be conquered seamlessly and without any effort, and others can teach lessons that last a lifetime. One lesson that everyone must learn is that appearances can be misleading. With people, especially teenagers, it is often intentional and other times it is not. In order for one to conquer these obstacles, one must possess the ability to distinguish between those who play a true and significant role in life and those who solely mislead others. One must be “aware of the serpent under the flower.” At the beginning of my freshman year at Lane Tech High School, I was overwhelmed with intimidation and it was difficult to make friends.
