Puck is a fool in the traditional sense of the word, it is his job to entertain Oberon, the fairy king, with his tricks and jokes. ... The first section I would perform in a sotto voice to add intrigue for the audience then when the second part of the last line is spoken it should be loud but clear and full of wicked glee from Puck, in this way there is definite impact from the contrast created on the conclusion. Puck also keeps Oberon in suspense here and he certainly enjoys being in control in this role reversal. The relationship between Puck and Oberon has often been presented in different ways; lovers, father/son, brothers. ...
