What qualities make a person a tragic hero? One man, Aristotle, came up with the qualities a tragic hero possesses. Examples of these traits are the hero’s nobility, his defeat, a tragic flaw, and pity from the audience. Many people feel that Macbeth, from William Shakespeare’s play Macbeth , is a tragic hero.
