Oedipus s Demise
Throughout much of literature tragic hero’s have fallen due to an imperfection in their character. According to Aristotle, Oedipus’s had one tragic flaw, his own ego. His passion for discovering the truth about the murderer of Laius and his other life ultimately leads to his own demise. In Oedipus’s first few days of being king he sends Creon to Apollo to receive advice on how to find and punish the murderer of Laius, the former King of Thebes. Creon returns with the words of Apollo and Oedipus demands that Creon announce to the public what Apollo has said.
