After forming the Dave Matthews Band in 1991, Dave and the other four members, Carter Beauford, LeRoi Moore, Stefan Lessard, and Boyd Tinsley have put out eight astounding records in the past 12 years. Now Dave decided to step out of the Band’s spotlight and into his own with his new album. Matthews’ first solo album demonstrates he has the talent and vision to stand on his own. Matthews wrote a number of songs that didn’t seem suitable for the full band; he decided to book some local studio time to further develop them as solo compositions.
