Teaching Styles of Winthrop and Franklin

Teaching Styles of Winthrop and Franklin During the early development of North America, John Winthrop and Benjamin Franklin expressed their views on matters of the New England settlement through their writings. Both writers use informative ways of portraying their views on life; however, they conduct their way of teaching in two different formats. Winthrop uses a more biblical stand point in his way of teaching. This is in contrast to the use of personal experience as a means of teaching that Franklins portrays. John Winthrop’s past experiences resulted in him being the Christian man he became known for today. As a young man, Winthrop was not focused on the religious aspect of life as he was in his latter years.
