Sylvia Plaths relation between her life and work

It is much easier to understand the dark undertones existing in Sylvia Plath’s poems after becoming aware of the events that took place while she was alive. Sometimes a writer’s work is not well connected or affected by his or her own life, but this clearly is not the case with Plath. Her work is deeply personal and it can be argued that it is perhaps this quality that can at least take partial credit for her ongoing relevance all these years after her life and her work, came to an abrupt end. ... She thinks she is being constantly watched and judged, due no doubt to what was at this point a much more public life than she was used to.
