importance of media and public opinion in politics
Public opinion and media are two great factor that at times can shape politics. In many forms of politics media and the public’s opinion are important such as is seen in majoritarian and entrepreneurial politics, while in other cases it is not of very much significance as is seen in interest group and client politics. Through these four forms of politics the degree of public opinion and media are observed to be at different degrees. In majoritarian politics media and public opinion are very important. In majoritarian politics the majority rule therefore what the public thinks is especially important since it decides. Media can be extremely important since it has a crucial role in shaping the public’s opinion. The delegates who are elected are elected through the votes of a majority whom are persuaded by media, propaganda and previous experiences. If the public may be persuaded at times through the use of the media but at times also through a delegates past results.
