Privatization of Healt Care

Privatization of Health Care: For and Againt? Health care in any country is a big issue for the government. ... Even so, health care is essential for a country’s well-being; it provides people with the necessary medication, treatment, and care they need when medical attention is required. I believe health care should never be privatized. The privatization of health care would mean that provision of care would be based on the ability to pay, rather than on the basis of need. This idea would not be ideal for the health care system for it does not reflect the situation of the less fortunate of society. Those who earn low-income, are unemployed, and on social assistance (welfare) will not be able to pay for health care, excluding them from what should be equally available to everyone. Those who cannot afford private health care must face the hardships of living without adequate medical services or must face a life time of paying off medical debts. According to the Canadian Federation of Nurses Union, the privatization of health care will lead to a decrease in the quality of health care.
