All students should participate in Volunteerism
In Ontario, to receive our Ontario Secondary School Diploma students are required to complete a minimum of forty hours of mandatory community involvement prior to graduation. However, students don’t exactly know what they get out of it and the only reason why they do it is to earn their high school diploma. Should this be the only reason why they should volunteer? ... All students should participate in volunteerism, because they will learn more about their community and those who live there by becoming involved, they will be making a difference in their life and someone else’s life and it will give them an opportunity to learn new skills and/or brush up on old ones. One of the reasons why students should volunteer is to become more familiar with their community and the people who live there. This will benefit the students by informing them about how things work in the current status of the world.
