In Either/Or, Kierkegaard leads his readers on personal journeys through the tenets of his aesthetical and ethical spheres of life. Kierkegaard presents the task for us to extract something from this journey and incorporate it into our lifestyles. Kierkegaard takes on a different approach to his audience when concluding Equilibrium Between the Aesthetic and Ethical. Kierkegaard addresses his readers directly, and this is the first time when the audience gains a sense of real, interpersonal communication with Kierkegaard. The previous works of Either/Or are characterized of Kierkegaard’s use of pseudonyms, which is inherently inauthentic since he is not directly addressing his audience. ... Here Kierkegaard is establishing his belief for the continuity, the eternality which comes with the ethical sphere of existence and thus attempting to convince A that not choosing the ethical sphere is immoral.
