Hemingway Code
The Hemingway Code is a way of life for a hero, that some abide by and think it is the only way of living. Santiago in The Old Man and the Sea followed the code by showing all the principals of the code. Every one should live by Hemingway’s code so they could live in a world of violence, disorder, and misery. If the code is followed it should have to exemplify the principals of honor, courage and endurance which Santiago showed through out the journey of his fishing. ... In the text it is written and said by Santiago himself “It was the only way to kill him,”(Hemingway 70). ... Santiago showed a great amount of honor, which is one part of the Hemingway code. ... These are two great examples of the second part of the Hemingway code. ... Santiago endured a lot on this trip to sea and showed that he had the third and final part of the Hemingway Code. ... He is considered the Hemingway Code Hero.
