So one continues to read the entire poem with this notation that Rossetti is describing her narrator’s sadness upon returning home after death. ... Christina Rossetti knew the title would reflect on the poems true interpretation, therefore she used implied word context to throw the reader off guard and require him or her to think. Next, one must be familiar with the definition of time to better understand the relationship Rossetti develops between it and death. According to the WCD, time is a continuum which lacks spatial dimensions and in which events succeed one another from past through present to future.
