Octavio Paz My Life With The Wave

Octavio Paz: My Life With The Wave My Life With The Wave is about a man who takes home a wave from the ocean. I think his relationship with the wave can be compared to the relationship of a man and woman. At first he “meets” the wave in the ocean and as he is walking away he feels the other waves “staring” at him. This could be because he is taking the water away from where it should be, but the wave wanted to go like a woman who wants only what she wants and won’t listen to anyone. When the man gets on the train he realizes he has a secret that he cannot tell anyone and tries to hide the wave, which will eventually lead him to distancing himself from the life he has.
