The hammer sends shockwaves through the earths crust and the reflections of the vibrations are then mapped to show the sub-surface of the earth. That’s why Priest and his girlfriend Star steal a seismic vibrator from a Texas company and, calling themselves the Hammer of Eden, they post a threat on an Internet chat-room.
