Rifle

In 1768, Cornish McManus created a rifle of such beauty and accuracy that he knew he could never create another like it. ... The history of the rifle then began with it’s most famous owner, John Byam, who became a legendary sharpshooter in the Revolutionary War because of the gun. Byam then died during the war, but the life of the rifle continued until it fired on a fateful Christmas Eve of 1994. The Rifle is a well written book and was usually easy to follow, even though it jumps from person to person numerous times according to whom the rifle was with or who it was affecting the most at the time. ... At the end the book becomes a little confusing because of the connection between the little boy, Richard Messington, and the rifle. ... This confused the reader because the boy was not the main character, but was still told about in more detail than the maker of the rifle.
