Courtly love
Essay: Medieval Period After exploring the medieval lifestyle portrayed in the works that we read, I found things like: Honor, chivalry, honestly, courage, pride, loyalty, and courtly love. Of all these aspects of positive medieval type behavior, courtly love seems to me to be the one quality that I would like to see more on the world today. Chaucer was one author during this time that would include the idea of courtly love in most of his stories. ... What courtly love really is, is the belief that a person must find a love starting with a proper courtship (dating), advance to marriage even if you don’t really exsactly “love” the person, and you are technically allowed to have affairs.
