Death and crucifixion
R.E : Death and Crucifixion of Jesus Rough Draft I witnessed the death and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Up until that Friday I had viewed Jesus of Nazareth as a political trouble maker, trying to stir up rebellion, hatred and civil unrest, and as far as I was concerned he deserved his fatal punishment. My name is Mohammed Aljaihad, and I was part of the crowd who screamed at Pontius Pilate, “Let the responsibility for his death fall on us and our children.” I remember Friday well. There was an air of excitement, and many rumours floating about. Apparently Roman soldiers had been insulting, mocking and torturing Jesus for hours inside the Governors Palace. I thought it served him right to wear a scarlet robe and a crown of thorns after all his blasphemy and breaking of religious laws. How could this carpenter’s son from Nazareth claim to be the son of the living God?
