Hamlet and television
Hamlet states that the purpose of drama has always been "to hold, as twere, the mirror up to nature; to show virtue her own feature, scorn her own image and the very age and body of the time his form and pressure." (Line 21 - 24 Act 3 scene 2) When Hamlet says this, he is referring to the idea that drama should reflect an image of real life. Television today has change drastically to that of what it was 10 - 20 years ago. ... When I watch Television I like to be entertained, so I watch Seinfeld and Friends. ... Television shows that target teenagers are growing ever so popular now these days. ... The last area of television I have yet to touch base on is reality TV. ... This makes the show more interesting and boosts ratings; these shows are put on television because the people who make them know that sex sells. ... Nonetheless no matter how close television comes to emulate that of life, it will never be exact.
