We take extreme efforts to identify patients that are potential isolation candidates and act upon our instincts immediately. Our policy and procedure identifies four different types of isolation patients: Contact I precautions, Contact II precautions, Respiratory Precautions, and Special Respiratory Precautions. ... Placards are placed on each patient’s door indicating to staff members and visitors that the patient is in isolation, what type of isolation they are in, and as an effective reminder to apply the personal protective equipment (ppe) as indicated.
