Are You Afraid?
Fear– 1. An Unpleasant often-strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger. 2. A painful emotion or passion excited by the expectation of evil, or the apprehension of impending danger; apprehension; anxiety; solicitude; alarm; dread. The degrees of this passion, beginning with the most moderate, may be thus expressed, -- apprehension, fear, dread, fright, terror. "Fear is an uneasiness of the mind, upon the thought of future danger likely to befall us." Locke An icy cold hand has a hold of one’s body. Chills are sent down the spine. It controls and limits the action of an individual. Trembles begin, and gradually get worse and worse until movement is impossible. Muscles tighten, and adrenaline is pumped throughout the body. Nervousness occurs, anxious feeling arise. Increased apprehension comes. Dread of something happening comes. Normal bodily functions are stopped. The heart beats faster and faster. The personality is changed, and the being is altered. The “fight or flight” syndrome kicks in, all because of one abstract idea; Fear. Fear is an age-old feeling that still has people wrapped around their emotions.
