Beatles Royal Performance
The Beatles had their second big break on November 4, 1963 where they played the Prince of Wales’ Theatre for the Royal Variety Show. After, having played the London Palladium, where news reporters covered stories about the crowds, the Beatles received an invitation to perform at the Royal Variety show. Brian Epstein, the Beatles’ manager, thought this invite to be a bigger honor than London Palladium. The Beatles, however, were more impressed with the line up: Marlene Dietrich and Maurice Chevalier, according to Hunter Davies.
