The problem of the lab experiment entitled “Foul Water” was to generate a sample of “clean” water through the purification of a sample “foul water”. When reading about the 3 methods of purification we would be using, the experiment sounded very straightforward and quite practical. The hypothesis was “If a foul water sample undergoes 3 processes of purification, then clean water will be produced”. When our lab group measured the foul water sample, we quickly observed that it had a strong odor similar to garlic and was a light yellow color without any clarity.
