Assignment 5 Media Power: Global Media and Media Effects Communication 101 – Fall 2003 1) In this story, a study was conducted to test the effects of violent television on children. In the study, children were tested by watching violent then non violent material. Scientists then showed the subjects different scenarios to test their reactions. 2) The story illustrates that violence on television causes children to be less sensitive to the pain and suffering of others, makes them more fearful of the world around them, and makes them more aggressive towards others.
