A Conitinual Struggle

Reproductive rights have been controversial for the past few decades. In such a patriarchal society, women are not supposed to have control over their own bodies. I find it ludicrous that a woman’s control over her own body is even controversial. Since it is not “normal” in patriarchal societies for females to be emancipated, any female seeking equality will inevitably violate the social norm of female subjugation. Society wants to dictate what women do with their bodies. Women’s reproductive rights have been under fierce attack and the Supreme Court has retreated from its support of all women’s right to decide whether to bear a child. Black women especially, have had to struggle for the right to procreate and continue to battle against attempts to control their fertility. The struggle continues for reproductive liberty and freedom for women. Discrimination against women puts them in lower classes. In actuality, they really have no control or freedom of choice as to if they want to have babies or not. Women continue to struggle trying to control their reproductive lives. Women are viewed as inferior objects that should not have control over their bodies and are not capable of making their own decisions. Because women are not provided equal rights in education, employment, and access to information, they are forced to fall into lower classes.
