Tragedy of Othello
Abstract: Othello is a famous tragedy written by Shakespeare. The first one factor that causes Othello¡¯s tragedy is the racial tension, the other one is by Othello himself. This article illustrates the first factor by analyzing the attitudes of the characters of the play toward Othello¡¯s identity of Moor. Keywords: Othello Moor black tragedy If we read carefully this great tragedy, we can see in the characterization of Othello complex gestures towards cultural differentiation. Othello¡¯s ¡°African¡± qualities are presented from two sides. Othello¡¯s pride appears at times as vanity, at times as rightful self-respect.
