Information Age Exhibit at the Smithsonium
... The Information Age exhibition was exquisite, informative, and quite different from my expectations. Based solely on my previous experience with computers and information, I assumed that I would simply see older models of computers, starting with the ENIAC. I was surprised when I walked into the exhibit and saw that the first invention was Samuel Morse’s telegraph machine invited in 1830. The movement of information, displayed throughout the exhibit left quite an impression on me. The need to produce methods of transference of information from person to person with the use of machines was drastic and took a couple of centuries to perfect.
