Seventeen Magazine
Seventeen magazine is geared toward high school girls. Although it is titled Seventeen the majority of the readers range from ages thirteen to seventeen. It is a fashion magazine to help girls feel more confident and give them good advice. ... The magazine often answers questions teenage girls have that they may be to embarrassed to ask anyone else.
The girls who read this magazine want to look good. When I flip through this magazine I see tons of very skinny girls. I think when other girls read this magazine and they see picture perfect girls they want to look like that. When I look at the advertisements in the magazine a large majority of the girls have perfect bodies, tan skin, and brown hair. I turned every page in the magazine and did not see one girl who was overweight. This is interesting because I think that would make girls who are heavy not feel good about themselves and maybe not relate to the magazine.
