Stanford Prison Experiment
The Stanford Prison Experiment was conducted by professor Philip Zimbardo in 1971. This psychological experiment took volunteer’s placed them in a stimulated prison, volunteers took roles as prison guards or prisoners. In the experiment Zimbardo set out to test whether people would conform the roles given to them.
As the experiment started the volunteers were not told the experiment was starting. ... They were blindfolded and dumped in to imitation prisons created inside Stanford University. ...
The experiment soon began to escalate out of control. ... Prisoners at the Stanford prison then started having mental problems, break downs, and suffered other adverse effects some were a lot serious than others.
