Is Hamlet the son the mirror of Hamlet the father
The notion that Hamlet the son is a mirror of his father is debatable as these two characters appear to be very different men. ... Hamlet however, is a man of much thought and deliberation, seeming to make him the very opposite of his father in many ways as his irresolute nature is seen to be a hamarteia. Hence, it is possible to see a dichotomy at the heart of Hamlet: on one hand he needs to fulfil his role as a dutiful son and avenge his father’s death; however this kind of initiative is far from Hamlet’s pensive disposition.
