Green Mile
In the serial novel, The Green Mile by Steven King, Paul Edgecomb’s honest and open relationship with his wife is the standard by which he makes his moral and ethical decisions. Jan has a way of comforting Paul about decisions that he has made, even if she doesn’t agree with them. Janice can sense when Paul is feeling uneasy, and she is good at getting him to face the problem with a good attitude. At times when Paul gets too involved in a situation, Janice is there to give him new perspective on the topic and at the same time ease his troubled mind. Without the constant love and support of his wife Janice, Paul’s professional life would take an even greater toll on him.
