Global Threat
In the last century two major scientific issues that have plagued our world have been acid rain and global warming, and it hasn’t been until recently when these two threatening issues have been recognized. ... Both of these concerns have major consequences but global warming has much more damaging effects that could and probably will alter the way we live in the next century and on into the future. Global warming may not be the most important problem at hand, but if something is not done to change the path that we as humans are taking, the increase in temperature will be so great in the future that there will be significant, and unchangeable damage to our earth. “At present Earth appears to be facing a rapid warming, which most scientists believe results, at least in part, from human activities” (Global Warming). ... One of the major issues involved with the global warming is the greenhouse effect. ... Global warming has many major consequences in the future if the activities that occur today are not decreased. ... (Global Warming) Acid rain, as well, has a very big and dangerous impact on earth today, and though it is not as important as the problem of global warming, it is still a major problem at hand.
