In itself, this movie is a beautiful piece, starkly demonstrating the perils of racial segregation in South Africa at the time, while nuturing the beauty and worthiness of the native African people in both their glory and their white-inflicted drudgery. However, in comparison with the internationally-acclaimed novel upon which this film is based, we are presented with two totally different stories which almost bear no resemblence with eachother whatsoever: this angered me to a considerable extent.
