Race Portrayal On Television
I tend to watch quite a bit of television, in fact you could call it a bad habit, so in all my television watching, I come across quite an array of shows. ... Now, in my opinion, these shows are fairly similar in the way that race is portrayed but I will say that there are a few noticeable differences. ... One thing that I have noticed about this show is that when one of the male stars has a romantic interest of another race, they never ever mention anything about that persons race. For example, one of the characters, Ross, had an Asian girlfriend for a few episodes and not once did they mention her race. ... Once again, no mention of race. ... Of course, there is not mention of race. My point is, in all the years that friends has been on, I have never heard of race as being any sort of an issue.
