Asian Longhorned Beetles (ALB’s), Garlic Mustard, and Cane toads are all similar in that they are all alien invasive species in the non-native areas they inhabit. While they are all pests, they came to the land of their victims in very different ways. ... ALB’s were quickly recognized as pests, whereas it took a little longer for people to realize the cane toad was unwanted and harmful, and it took even longer to discover the invasiveness of Garlic Mustard.
